I attended
the London College of Printing where I studied Typography and worked in Graphic
Design industry in London during which time I began to draw Pen & Ink studies
and paint in Water colours. My eye was always drawn towards people and faces,
trying to capture expressions.
Under the
tuition of professional artists Phelim Donfield and Eamonn Colman of Brushstrokes
Art School in Dublin I learnt a great deal about colour, drawing and techniques
in all fields. Having developed some skills in Still Life, Flowers and
Landscapes, I found myself drawn back to people and completed a number of
portraits and commissions, which gave me the most satisfaction.
The Middle
Eastern and African subjects are especially stimulating for me as they are
colourful and expressive.
